To understand the form, shape, and type of a stone we must lean toward Geology. This department of study deals with the surface of earth, its elements, forming, shape, color etc in general. The study and theoretical details about earth is not so easy to understand for people other than geologists. However, it is enough to know that stones have been forming in different shapes and volume ever since the origination of the earth. Stones are formed on the surface of the earth, beneath the surface of the earth, and under the sea like other mineral substances such as iron, copper etc. Many of these minerals are used according to the usage direction described in astrology.

Stones and all other mineral substances are but chemical materials. However, to know exactly which chemical materials form a particular stone, needs a laboratory based analytical exploration of chemicals that formed it. It is very important to mention here that to learn whether a stone is real or not real with bare eyes is very hard if not impossible. To know whether a stone is real or fake, there is no other alternative than to examine it through a chemical test in the laboratory.

Two Gemstone testing laboratories were established twice in Bangladesh. However, as the test of a stone is very expensive, so both were closed down. There are facilities to test a stone available in Calcutta, along with other cities in India. And this facility should be available in other developed countries as well.

One of my clients claimed that there is a Gem test laboratory in Banani-Gulshan area in Bangladesh. I was informed that the laboratory doesn’t only examine stones, it also sells stones.
